This was our last meal in San Francisco, and it was great. Right across the street from the Chancellor where we stayed. That bread and bowl of clam chowder was our lunch on the last day. No place better for clam chowder than SF!

turning the streetcar
It's interesting to watch them turn the streetcar. What's not interesting is that the mayor of SF significantly downsized the streetcar budget so that less are running, and lines get long and Long waiting for a streetcar. Workers even just sit there on streetcars until it's time for another one to go; the budget (according to one of the workers) is so low, they are paying streetcar operators per journey. So, the longer you wait in line for a streetcar, the more the city saves. Of course, while we waited for this one we were serenaded by wonderfully bad Beatles guitar music in the cold, so it does make a delightfully funny memory after the fact!

more in SF!
Sorry for the delay, folks. Here are a few more pics of San Francisco. We got up early one morning to go to the Farmer's Market near the wharf. Great stuff. We tried and bought some dried fruit. The variety of fruit and veg here was impressive. It's such a healthy city - it makes you really want to live there! Don't ask me what that yellow claw thing is in my hand - I can't remember!
